2023 Classings Classic Sale

2023 will see selected Baderloo rams return to the Classings Classic Sale. Bill dropped in to scrutinise the reserves and some early lots in the sale. After careful consideration we have decided to sell a reserve ram (220198) and remove lot 21 (220265) from our on-property sale to go to classing.

Both of these rams have created a lot of interest from multiple on-property inspections and we are excited to see how they will perform in the sale on Monday 4th September at the Murray Bridge racecourse. Put it in your diary!

Other news from the property…

Exporting Baderloo Genetics to Argentina

Did you know that we have been exporting Baderloo genetics internationally? We first exported Baderloo semen to Argentina in 2019, and after a few years of COVID restrictions, our clients were finally able to come and visit us. It was great to see them at Bendigo, Keith and here at Baderloo.

Following great results from the first semen export they were keen to get some more Baderloo influence. They have selected a fantastic ram and we have a really exciting deal in the pipeline.

Lamb Tailing and Genomics

We have started tailing the early mobs in July with some pleasing results. We still have the later mobs to complete once they have finished lambing.

We Genomic tested our entire flock last year so it was an easy task this year to collect TSU samples of the lambs in the cradle. Once tailing is completed we will have them sent off for analysis and look forward to seeing parentage and early breeding values especially with the infusion of the Trigger Vale and also some more Leahcim Genetics.

Genomics has been a big investment for our program and has been extremely valuable for early selection of ram and ewe lambs for joining. We feel this is and important step in progressing our genetics and gives our clients confidence in buying the best genetics they can.

Baderloo genetics always deliver premium fleece.

Road Trip to Bendigo & Keith

This year we are travelled cross-country to Bendigo for the Australian Sheep and Wool Show on the 14th-16th July and stopped at Keith on the way home for the South East Merino Field Day on 19th July.

We took a team of high-end reserves and sale rams for display with us and it was a great chance to see some of our clients interstate and in the South East and showcase our exciting line up of rams for sale on August 17th. It was also a great opportunity to see what other studs are producing around the country and network with other like-minded seed stock producers.
